By downloading, installing, or using WC Finder (the 'App') or accessing the associated website and backend services (collectively, the 'Service'), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use ('Terms'). If you do not agree, you must not use the Service.
These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and the operator of WC Finder ('WC Finder', 'we', 'us', or 'our'). We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Continued use after changes are posted constitutes acceptance.
You must be at least 16 years of age to create an account or use the Service, in accordance with Article 8 of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). By using the Service you represent and warrant that you meet this requirement.
To submit toilet listings, write reviews, or make purchases, you must register an account. You agree to:
• Provide a valid, unique email address and username;
• Verify your email address via the confirmation link we send;
• Keep your password secure — passwords must be at least 6 characters and include a letter, a number, and a special character;
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorised access to your account;
• Accept sole responsibility for all activity under your credentials.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that we believe have been compromised.
You may delete your account at any time from the Profile screen within the App. When you request account deletion:
• Your personal data (email address, username, password hash, and all authentication tokens) will be permanently and irreversibly deleted;
• Toilet listings and reviews you have submitted will remain on the platform but will be anonymised — they will no longer be linked to your identity or any identifiable person;
• Any active sessions will be immediately invalidated;
• Payment records may be retained for up to 7 years as required by applicable financial regulations, but will not be linked to your identity.
Account deletion is irreversible. Once completed, your account cannot be recovered. If you later wish to use WC Finder again, you must create a new account.
This process complies with the right to erasure under GDPR Article 17. Anonymised data that can no longer be linked to any identifiable person is not personal data and is not subject to deletion requirements under GDPR.
Registered users may submit public toilet locations, including name, GPS coordinates, address, description, opening hours, price information, payment options, features, location type, and photographs of the exterior and interior. By submitting a listing you confirm that:
• The information is accurate to the best of your knowledge;
• Any photographs are your own work or you hold the right to share them;
• The listing does not violate any applicable law or third-party rights.
You retain copyright in any original photographs you upload. By submitting them, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to display and distribute them within the Service.
You may only edit or delete listings that you originally submitted. We may remove any listing at our discretion. Upon account deletion, your listings remain on the platform in anonymised form.
You may submit a single star-rating and optional comment per toilet location. Reviews must be honest and must not contain offensive, defamatory, or misleading content. We reserve the right to remove reviews that violate these requirements. Upon account deletion, your reviews remain on the platform in anonymised form.
You must not submit, upload, or post any content — including but not limited to photographs, images, text, comments, descriptions, usernames, or any other material — that:
• Is unlawful, illegal, or facilitates any illegal activity under applicable local, national, or international law;
• Is obscene, pornographic, sexually explicit, or sexually suggestive, in whole or in part;
• Depicts, glorifies, or promotes violence, self-harm, terrorism, or hatred against any individual or group based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or any other characteristic;
• Is hateful, threatening, harassing, abusive, defamatory, or discriminatory toward any person or group;
• Depicts nudity or partial nudity in any context not appropriate for all audiences;
• Involves or exploits minors in any way, including any depiction that could be considered harmful or inappropriate;
• Is false, misleading, or fraudulent, including fake locations, fabricated addresses, or deliberately incorrect information;
• Infringes any third-party intellectual property rights, including copyright, trademarks, or rights of publicity or privacy;
• Contains personal data of third parties (such as private addresses, phone numbers, or photographs of identifiable private individuals) shared without their consent;
• Constitutes spam, unsolicited commercial communications, or advertising;
• Contains malware, viruses, or any code designed to disrupt or damage systems;
• Violates any applicable law or regulation in any jurisdiction.
This policy applies to all content submitted through WC Finder, including toilet names, descriptions, addresses, photographs (exterior and interior), review text, comments, and any other user-submitted field.
ENFORCEMENT WITHOUT WARNING: Any content that violates this section — regardless of whether the violation was reported by another user or identified by us — will be removed immediately and without prior notice or warning. In the same action, the account responsible for submitting the offending content will be permanently terminated, all active sessions will be invalidated, and all content associated with that account will be subject to further review. We reserve the right to report illegal content, including but not limited to content involving minors, to the relevant law enforcement authorities.
We do not tolerate any form of prohibited, illegal, or inappropriate content on WC Finder and will act swiftly and decisively against any user who submits such material.
REPORTING MECHANISM: Users may report any toilet listing or review that they believe violates these guidelines using the "Report" button available on each listing and review. We commit to reviewing all reported content within 24 hours of receipt and removing content that violates our community guidelines. Users who repeatedly submit abusive content will have their accounts permanently terminated.
Users may purchase the 'Remove Ads' feature for a one-time fee. This is a permanent, non-subscription purchase that suppresses all banner and interstitial advertisements for the purchasing account. Payment is handled securely via Apple App Store or Google Play.
Once the payment is confirmed, the 'ads removed' flag is permanently set on your account. This entitlement is tied to your account and is non-transferable. If you delete your account, this entitlement is also deleted.
Users may optionally support WC Finder with a voluntary donation via Apple App Store or Google Play. Available tiers are displayed in the app. No goods or services are provided in exchange. Donations are non-refundable except where required by applicable law.
All in-app purchases are processed by Apple Inc. (App Store) or Google LLC (Google Play), depending on your platform. By making a purchase you also agree to the applicable platform's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. We do not store or have access to your payment card details.
The 'Remove Ads' purchase is generally non-refundable once the entitlement has been applied to your account. If you believe you were charged in error, please contact us within 14 days. Voluntary donations are non-refundable.
Unless otherwise stated all prices include VAT where applicable. You are responsible for any applicable taxes in your jurisdiction.
The free version of WC Finder displays advertisements served via Google AdMob (mobile) and Google AdSense (web). Advertisements are suppressed for users who have purchased the 'Remove Ads' feature.
We do not control the content of third-party advertisements. Google's advertising practices are governed by Google's own policies. By using the free version of the Service you consent to the display of these advertisements.
Interstitial (full-screen) advertisements are subject to frequency and session limits and will not be shown more than twice per session or more than once per minute.
The WC Finder name, logo, application code, and all original content created by us are our exclusive property or are licensed to us. Nothing in these Terms grants you any right to use our trademarks or other proprietary materials.
Map data is provided by MapLibre and LocationIQ, subject to their respective terms of service. Reverse geocoding is provided by the Nominatim service operated by the OpenStreetMap Foundation, subject to their Acceptable Use Policy.
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED 'AS IS' WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.
We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or availability of toilet listings, which are submitted by community members. Always verify accessibility and opening times on-site.
We are not responsible for any third-party services including Apple App Store, Google Play, Google AdMob, Google AdSense, Nominatim, or email delivery services.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or data, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service.
Our total cumulative liability to you for any claims under these Terms shall not exceed the greater of (i) the amount you paid to us in the twelve months prior to the claim, or (ii) €10.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be excluded by law, including liability for fraud, personal injury caused by negligence, or rights under mandatory consumer protection laws.
You may delete your account at any time as described in Section 4. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or if we discontinue the Service. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Sections 8, 9, 10, and 12 survive termination.
IMMEDIATE TERMINATION FOR PROHIBITED CONTENT: Notwithstanding any other provision of these Terms, accounts found to have submitted prohibited, illegal, or inappropriate content as described in Section 5.3 will be permanently terminated immediately and without prior warning. No notice, grace period, or right of appeal is provided in such cases. All content submitted by the terminated account will be removed. We reserve no obligation to preserve any data belonging to a terminated account beyond the minimum retention periods required by law.
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the European Union and, where applicable, the national laws of the member state in which WC Finder is registered. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of that member state.
If you are a consumer resident in the EU, you may also use the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform at https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
